Change is brewing across the Perth bar scene with specialty craft beer filling up glasses with exciting flavours of hops.
No longer do you see the stock standard beer names splashed across taps as there are a strong following and appreciation of craft beer taking residence on coasters across bar counters around Perth’s latest beer lover sanctums.

Petition
Petition offers a unique personalised bar experience acquired to your taste. Forget leaning across a bar for your drinks as orders are taken across a low-lying wooden table for a relaxed personal try-before-you-buy talk through with a certified beer professional. (Sounds like the best job out there!)
This is the place to hop through hops with its ever-changing 18 independent craft beers on tap and extensive bottle list. If you are an avid beer connoisseur, make sure you grab yourself a tasting paddle. Forget the usual bar buts as this paddle comes with a side of upmarket bar snacks such as corn on the cob topped with miso and parmesan.
Located in the former head post office and treasury building, an ode to its past is still evident with remnants its wooden floors, exposed beams and high ceilings giving Petition a polished industrial feel.
This place is buzzing after work hours with many flocking to its stools for their own happy hour (unfortunately) without the happy price.

Northbridge Brewing Company
The ever-changing Perth drinking scene would not be complete without a mirco-brewery at the centre of it.
Northbridge Brewing Company is a three-storey, part steel glass box beer refuge in the heart of Northbridge includes a ground bar with a terrace beer garden and restaurant producing staple quality pub grub. There is also a Skydeck too – perfect for people watching all around the colourful Northbridge piazza below and surrounds.
To give it a distinct WA feel, the interior is made up of salvaged materials (red bricks, timber and beams) from former industrial and sports stadiums of Perth.
On tap, there are four in-house brewed Beerland beers including Lager, Pale Ale, Wheat and IPA with seasonal favourites also in rotation. The bar is surrounded with stocked fridges with speciality beers and ciders so if you are the ultimate beer lover, this place should be a mandatory pitstop for you.

Dutch Trading Co.
Time to drop an anchor along the popular Victoria Park strip nearby the Perth CBD. Taking cues from its moniker, Dutch Trading Company Co. imports the latest local, national and international brews with over 300 bottles and 18 tap beer offerings.
No visit will ever remain the same as once a keg of beer is ran out, it is replaced with a new brew. If you are feeling peckish, there is a gastro pub menu on offer. Or if you would like to go full Dutch, grab a cheeseboard that can be perfectly matched with a range of beers.

Caboose
Caboose is a relatively newcomer to the Perth craft beer bar scene. It neighbours with the legendary The Flying Scotsman along Mount Lawley’s trendy, hipster favourite Beaufort Street.
This bar is all about intimate feels as its dark décor and simple lighting make it feel ever so cosy. It also has a roadside alfresco and beer garden to boot, so you really do have your choice on what vibe you would like to feel – your next date spot perhaps?
If you can’t decide on what beer to quench your thirst with, the bar staff on point to talk you through the ever-changing 12 taps on rotation mounted along its white tiled back wall. A reasonably priced upmarket bar menu of nibbles and mains are also available.
